Why Belief Makes All Art.

All my teachers throughout the past few years has known that I have written to the best of my ability of my conviction that beliefs do indeed have consequences.  This is especially true when it comes to all forms of art,  but how do I know this? I have this conviction first of all because I am religious man and a committed Roman Catholic, the religion's whose moral and spiritual code I belief produces everything great on this earth, but put me aside, every artist is writing, painting or composing from a point of view take Communist artists for example they are trying to represent how the bourgeois  elites are corrupt and the proletariat must take over the world that is a belief, or take Fascist sculptors like Josef Thorak who try and represent the might, power and supremacy  of the Aryan Race. Now I use these two shocking and really abhorrent examples of beliefs to get across a point that all art absolutely comes from any person's belief whether we agree with them or not.


It is just a fact of our nature that I don't feel I can do justice to describe its something we all know inside even if we deny it. I will simply demonstrate this from a quote from Star Wars Episode 1 When Jedi Master Qui Gonn Jinn says "your focus determines your reality." If by "focus" he means "beliefs" then that is exactly what I want to say applies to us artists especially who mold our ideas into a real thing that we can read, see or hear.

                                                                                The name of this blog  is High Culture Quest because I want to share    my love of classical literature both  fiction, and non. I want to show that literature is essential to all   cultures particularly in the western/European tradition, which is where all ill be drawing my focus on. Thoughts on Being A New Englander

This chilly Advent I have been very thankful for the cold weather. Yes I love cold weather, the pain it gives one is far more easy to deal for me then the irritation of sweat. New Englanders are not always like this that's why so many of them fly to Florida for the winter. That tells a lot of what kind of New Englander I am in one sentence: An Italian American Catholic, who loves Monarchy, Order and Liberty. Most of these terms are not unfound in the history of this great province, we did have a King, the Anglicans here largely supported the Throne and loved Order, and the Puritans loved Liberty (at least according to the American founding mythos).
